With all other versions I've seen of the intel HD Family drivers (HD3000 chipset) this is the behavior I observe:ĭirect connection to any projector (Sanyo, Epson, Hitachi 3010zi) allows the miniport to VGA adaptor to "see" the connection immediately, switching modes and sending the laptop into projector mode. I've never been able to get this version again.

I have 1 MacBook Pro that works with all projectors and combinations of cabling/ switching/ wall plates: Driver version 8. Running Bootcamp with Win7 32bit / 64bit is a different issue. All MacBooks using the miniport to VGA have no problems from the Mac side. Old Macbooks and Macbook Pros with Nvidia chipsets have no issues. I'm currently troubleshooting the same issue. We had no trouble using the New Macbook pro on this projector unfortunately its over 5 years old and approaching end of life. Projector in Art room, BENQ AVMP611, VGA input, installation includes 10 m cable in the wall plus a 3 m extension lead.

When using the New Macbook Pro this projector would not work on either the Mac OSX or Windows side at all, till we shortened the cable to 2 meters. Projector in B4, NEC M260W, VGA input, installation includes 15 m cable in the wall plus a 5 m fly lead, we also had a 2 and a 3 meter lead to try direct to the projector.
Also all other laptops we tested, Dell, HP and Toshiba all worked with the projector. The old white MacBooks works fine with bootcamp running windows. When booting to windows it resized the screen on the main display but no signal came through. This projector worked with booting to Mac. Installation includes 15 m cable in the wall plus 2 m fly lead. Projector in B6, Taxan PS-232Xh, VGA input. I had our Apple dealer Tech come on site with the current, Aug2012, Macbook Pro, latest bootcamp drivers, and tested 3 projectors (The Mid 2012 build Macbook Pro has the intel HD Graphics 4000.) Looks like we cant purchase the Macbook Pro because of this fault. This was on a Mid 2012 build Macbook pro but the same result I'm afraid.

I also tried the intel HD graphics 4000 32 bit driver at It wont drive a 2nd display at all either a projector of a screen on any length of the video is set to 60Hz, no difference I'm afraid. I have only tried the 32 bit driver but it is worse than the apple default. Hoping someone can help as it looks like we cant purchase any more Macbook Pro's till the problem is resolved. The dongles we are using are Apple genuine. There is nothing wrong with the projector setup as it even works with iPads and a VGA dongle just not with the Macbook Pro's. My suspicion is there is something wrong with the bootcamp drivers that Apple provide. Apple refuse to acknowledge the issue saying its a windows problem. When booting into the windows 7 image the Macbook Pro will not drive the projector. We are still using windows so the Macbook Pro's are setup with dual boot with Lion on one side and windows 7 Pro on the other. However this year we got our first batch of Macbook Pro's 13 inch and the problems started. This setup has been working fine with Dell, HP and our old Macbook 13 inch laptops. They have a VGA cable installed which is usually 15 meteres in length down to a wall socket then the teacher just plugs the VGA fly lead from that to their laptop. I work at a school and we have about 50 data projectors mounted in the classrooms of various models and makes e.g.
